Woman, 34, plans to die by euthanasia today - she has one final hope before her de-ath

A woman who has organized to die on her birthday has requested one final wish.

Jolanda Fun turned 34 today (Thursday, April 25), and she intends to end her life by euthanasia today due to severe mental health issues, and when she dies, she hopes "that there is nothing".

Dutch laws permit euthanasia for psychiatric reasons, if the person is mentally competent, have wanted to be euthanized for a long time, and the decision must be theirs. A doctor must confirm their eligibility to end their life after all alternative solutions have been crossed out, reports LAD Bible.

Jolanda told The Times that she had an eating disorder, recurrent depression, autism and learning difficulties which lead her to feel “dark, overstimulation, chaos in my head, loneliness” in social situations.

She went on: "My father is sick, my mother is sick, my parents are fighting to stay alive, and I want to step out of life.

"That's a bit strange. But even when I was seven, I asked my mother whether, if I jumped from a viaduct, I would be dead. I've been struggling with this my whole life."

Despite therapy, Jolanda described her life as "constant pain", and decided to go down the euthanasia route two years ago on learning Netherlands law allows for assisted suicide for psychiatric reasons.

Jolanda described the rules surrounding euthanasia as “very strict”, adding: “You don't just get euthanasia, there's a whole journey... But it is death in a dignified way: painless, done by a doctor. Your loved ones can be there.

"And nobody discovers you in an appalling state - or you don't end up unlucky and even worse off than before."
