Taylor Swift has seemingly thrown shade at fans who gathered outside her old apartment in New York, with scathing lyrics uncovered from a song on The Tortured Poets Department.
The hitmaker, 34, released her 11th studio album earlier this month, with fans still decoding the lyrics and making sense of each of the 31 tracks. One of the tracks on the album, Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me? sees Taylor sing about rumors about her professional and personal life in a very confrontational way.
Fans have now "uncovered" how some of the lyrics seemingly throw shade at Taylor's fans who often gather and take photos outside of her old apartment on Cornelia Street, which is where she is thought to have spent a lot of time with her ex-boyfriend. Joe Alwyn in the beginning stages of their relationship.
Taylor, who split from Joe in April 2023, famously penned the song Cornelia Street from her 2019 album Lover, where she spoke about the apartment she rented when she and Joe began dating. Since then, fans have often flocked to the apartment to take photos of its exterior.
And now, in TTPD's track Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?, Taylor seemingly throws shade at the fans who flock to her old home on Cornelia Street when she croons: "I wanna snarl and show you just how disturbed this has made me / You wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me / So all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs."
She also sings: "That I'll sue you if you step on my lawn That I'm fearful and I'm wretched and I'm wrong / Putting narcotics into all of my songs / And that's why you're still singing along ."
