Just three days ago, a horrified mother walked into her lounge room to allegedly catch her new babysitter doing the unthinkable.
Security camera footage shows the 18-year-old carer appearing to cover the crying five-month-old boy's face with a cloth for about 10 seconds as he kicks his legs.
The little boy's mum can be seen rushing into the living room to take the baby, and then seems to proceed to question the babysitter about what she had just witnessed in her home in Cruzeiro Velho, in Brazil's Federal District, on Monday November 22.
According to the unnamed 33-year-old mother, she then locked herself in a room with her son, asked the babysitter to leave - and then called the Military Police (Brazil's preventive police force). The mother was with the babysitter at the time of the alleged incident because it was only her second time looking after the baby, and she wanted to keep an eye on her to make sure everything would be OK for future babysitting opportunities.
The babysitter's response to the mum at the time, and later told the police following her arrest on that same day, that she was just wiping the baby's nose.
The young woman told the police she worked as a babysitter from time-to-time and, according to her CV - she used to work as a sales assistant, and also a kindergarten and nursery assistant.
