Mother Conceals Message Inside Daughter’s Sock Before School, Educator Discovers It and Alerts COPS

A 7-year-old girl's decomposing body was found in the closet of a vacant apartment in Georgia and now her mother has been charged in connection with her murder, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The mummified remains of Alivia Hobbs-Jordan were discovered in DeKalb County after a neighbor reported smelling a foul odor from the vacant unit, as Front Page Detectives reported.

Before the victim was identified, investigators believed the deceased girl was between the ages of 2 and 4, according to WAGA. The report stated the body had a full head of hair, although her arm and leg were decaying.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the last tenant moved out of the unit in question months before Hobbs-Jordan was found there. However, squatters had lived in the home at some point, according to other residents.

Hobbs was charged with felony murder and second-degree cruelty, according to authorities.

WAGA reported that Hobbs is currently at a local hospital under officer supervision and will be taken into custody after she is discharged. It is not known why she is hospitalized.
